Located next to the Guoqing Temple scenic area, Tiantai Museum covers an area of 17,400 square meters with a construction area of over 5,900 square meters. It was designed by the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University. The museum’s architecture is well-arranged, built according to the terrain, with winding paths leading to secluded areas, integrating modern architectural concepts, and featuring distinct local cultural characteristics and a sense of the times.
The museum is divided into two parts: the exhibition area and the management area. The exhibition area consists of five exhibition halls, while the management area includes a cultural relics warehouse, offices, a resource room, a meeting room, a cultural relics restoration room, an audio-visual room, and an expert building. Functions are categorized into archaeology, cultural preservation, public work, custody, exhibition design, cultural relics restoration, and security.

The museum houses a rich variety and large number of cultural relics and specimens, with over 6,000 pieces in the collection. There are many first, second, and third-grade valuable cultural relics among them. The collection is divided into ceramics, bronze, calligraphy and painting, ancient books, and miscellaneous items, which can comprehensively reflect the historical and cultural characteristics of Tiantai Mountain. It has extremely high historical, cultural, and artistic scientific value.

Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM all year round; the museum is closed all day on Mondays. A must-see tip is to swipe your ID card to enter the museum, and photography of the cultural relics inside the exhibition hall is not allowed.
