Shuangmen Dong is located at the foot of Dushu Peak. Li Shixiu, a Ming Dynasty scholar from Changyu, described it as: ‘Beneath the solitary peak, emerald mounds pile high; secluded pavilions seem like a miniature Penglai. In the mountains, fairy grasses grow unrecognized, while in the caves, peach blossoms bloom in vain.’ A Qing Dynasty poet from Changyu also wrote a five-character quatrain: ‘Deep in the mountains, the heat is never felt; none compare to Shuangmen Dong. The wind greets me as I arrive, and bids me farewell as I depart.’ These two poems perfectly capture the essence of Shuangmen Dong.
Changyu Dongtian boasts countless cave attractions, all serenely beautiful and as enchanting as a fairyland. Shi Chuanxi, Ye Ren Waterfall, and Long Lin Waterfall maintain their pristine natural beauty, each with its unique charm, drawing visitors in and offering a blend of lush mountains, clear waters, religious culture, and stone cultural landscapes. Inside the cave, there stands a massive stone carving of the Maitreya Buddha, 5 meters high and 7 meters wide. The benevolent face of the Buddha brings joy to all who behold it. The cave is also home to Asia’s only rock cave concert hall, which gained international fame for successfully hosting the ‘First Chinese Rock Cave Music Festival’ on April 28, 2002. There is also a stone-carved bowl with a diameter of 2.12 meters, listed in the Guinness World Records. The Stone Culture Corridor features 33 stone-carved wall Guanyins. The cave’s roof has multiple openings, allowing sunlight and cloud shadows to illuminate the interior, giving visitors the feeling of being in a paradise away from the world.

Opening hours are from 08:00 to 17:00 all year round; from 07:30 to 16:30 all year round, with specific business status subject to the daily opening conditions.
