The China Lighthouse Museum, built near the sea, is located in Zhuyu New District, Daishan County. It is so far the first tourist attraction in China with lighthouses as the theme. Combining with the construction of the new district and based on the world-famous ancient lighthouses, the architectural style is loyal to the original. The first-phase museum area that has been built and opened imitates and gathers seven famous lighthouses from different countries and with different architectural styles, including the Amédée Lighthouse in France, the Pervomaysk Lighthouse in Germany, the Cape Forchu Lighthouse in Canada, the Kåfjord Lighthouse in Norway, the Robben Island Lighthouse in South Africa, the Colonia del Sacramento Lighthouse in Uruguay, and the Portland Head Lighthouse in the United States. There is also an exhibition hall with an area of 600 square meters, displaying nearly 300 object panels. Tourists can learn about the evolution and development history of lighthouses and read anecdotes of famous lighthouses inside.
The opening hours are from 08:30 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:30 from Monday to Friday throughout the year; from 08:30 to 17:30 on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year. There is no closure at noon on weekends and statutory holidays. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
