Haiyin Pond

The Haiyin Pond in the Puji Buddhist Temple built in the Ming Dynasty. The pond water is accumulated from mountain springs and is clear and translucent like jade. In the pond, lotus leaves are lush and lotuses are graceful. The scenery is charming. In the summer evening, when the bright moon reflects in the pond and the lotus fragrance assails people, it is the perfect time to appreciate the ‘Lotus Pond Moonlight Night’. ‘Lotus Pond Moonlight Night’ refers to the moonlight scenery of Haiyin Pond. Haiyin Pond is in front of the mountain gate of Puji Temple. It is also called ‘Release Pond’ and ‘Lotus Pond’. Originally, it was a pond where Buddhist believers released living creatures. Later, lotuses were planted and it was then called ‘Lotus Pond’. ‘Haiyin’ is the name of a samadhi obtained by Buddhas. Just like the sea can reflect all things, so can the sea of wisdom of Buddhas, which can print and present all dharmas.
It is open all day throughout the year. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
