Haishan Park is located in the northern corner of Dinghai urban area of Zhoushan City, on the south side of Longfenggang foothill. It covers an area of 28.4 hectares. Construction started in March 1998 and was completed in October 1999. According to the mountain slope, from bottom to top, there are distinctive scenic spots such as Haishan Zenghui Square, Fountain Square, Observation Deck, Yao Gong Memorial Square, and the revolutionary martyr square on the top of the mountain. There are many historical sites and cultural landscapes in the park. At the main entrance square stands the ‘Haishan Zenghui’ memorial archway. At the foot of the mountain, there are key cultural relic protection units at provincial, municipal and district levels such as ‘Zhoushan Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery’, ‘Tongguiyu’, and ‘Fanggong Pool’. In the park, there are famous scientific research forestlands such as redwood forest and bamboo species garden. There are also economic forest gardens such as bamboo garden, pomelo garden and bayberry garden. In addition, there are 20 century-old ancient trees and more than 10,000 square meters of lawn. The green coverage rate is 94.6%. The park has perfect public facilities. The tourist routes and scenic spots on the mountain are reasonably laid out. Pavilions, corridors and shelves are scattered and orderly dotted among the forests. Open all day and all year round.
