Zhejiang Shaojiwan Fishing Village

Shaojiwan Fishing Village is one of the earliest settlements for people living by the sea on Zhujiajian Island. In ancient times, ancestors drove boats and cast nets here, farming the sea and fishing, gradually forming a natural fishing village. Shaojiwan is currently a relatively well-preserved fishing village in the coastal area of eastern Zhejiang. The fishing village faces the East China Sea. In spring, flowers are in full bloom. Looking from afar, an original style reveals a simple and unsophisticated charm. Entering the village, one can see a stream flowing through the fishing village. Fishermen live by the water. Quiet thatched cottages and fishing boats leaning against the sea. A strong fisherman’s style permeates the air. Strolling in the village, having a farm meal in the fishing village, and then watching the sun set in the west. No matter how many troubles there are, they will all disappear. Shaojiwan is located at the foot of the western slope of Daqingshan Mountain. It is adjacent to the Wushamen waterway leading to and from Yang’an Fishing Ground in the west. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, it is about 330 meters wide from north to south and 1,500 meters deep. It is named because its terrain is similar to a bamboo basket used by fishermen to wash rice. This is also a good place to watch the sunset. Nowadays, on the basis of the original residences, the original appearance of blue tiles and white walls is retained on the outside, and only internal renovations are carried out. This allows tourists to feel the simplicity and primitiveness of the fishing village while also enjoying modern living facilities. The opening hours are all year round and open all day.
