Shazhou Park is an exquisitely designed, uniquely laid out, and historically rich Jiangnan-style antique garden.
Inside the park, you can find a memorial arch, reliefs depicting the ‘Eight Views of Cangjiang’, a ribbon-like artificial river, Fenghua Garden, two rockeries made of yellow stones, and a stone boat, on which the four golden characters ‘Jian Zhen’s Eastern Voyage’ are inscribed. Inside the boat is a bronze statue of the Tang Dynasty monk Jian Zhen.
A distinctive feature of the park is the miniature landscape ‘Jiuzhaigou’, which is perennially adorned with the gentle murmur of flowing water. There are over a hundred varieties of famous ancient trees, including ginkgo, eucommia, chongyang tree, five-needle pine, white-barked pine, pine tree with round seeds, and ancient zelkova trees.
The park is open all year round, with full-day access.
