Nantong Blue-Printed Calico Museum

Nantong Blue-Printed Calico Museum, established by Chinese Master of Arts and Crafts Wu Yuanxin in 1997, is the first specialized museum in China that integrates collection, exhibition, research, production, and management. It encompasses the Blue-Printed Calico Museum LanYi Research Institute, the Blue-Printed Calico Museum Ming and Qing Dyeing Workshop, and the Blue-Printed Calico Museum’s Tourism Product Development and Exhibition Department.

The museum has organized and collected more than ten thousand pieces of artifacts and image materials since the Ming and Qing dynasties, preserving a vast collection of excellent folk products and publishing ‘The Complete Collection of Chinese Blue-Printed Calico Patterns’ in volumes for collections and patterns.

In 2005, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China Folk Artists Association awarded Nantong Blue-Printed Calico Museum the title of ‘Chinese Blue-Printed Calico Heritage Base’. The museum is open to the public from 08:30 to 17:00 all year round.
