MuCheng Park

MuCheng Park is planned to cover an area of 3800 acres, with 2600 acres already developed. The park creates a forest landscape through afforestation and greening, excavates lakes to create scenic views, expands water-friendly spaces, and embodies the characteristics of being fresh, natural, and returning to simplicity. It highlights four major elements: ‘wetland, water town, leisure, and entertainment’, and includes several functional areas such as riverside scenic spots, water-friendly lakeshores, characteristic culture, and commercial cuisine. It provides a great place for citizens to travel, sightsee, and relax.
Not far from the entrance of MuCheng Park is the spacious and grand Minghu Square, which covers an area of over 10,000 square meters. It features a sunken square and a colorful, dynamic music fountain. Near the riverbank, there is a riverside square with a total area of over 7000 square meters. The wooden trellises, giant Taihu stones, and water-friendly platforms on the square form a beautiful scenery. In addition to these two large squares, there are several smaller squares within the park for tourists to rest and park their sightseeing vehicles.

Passing by Minghu Square leads to Minghu Lake, which covers about one-fifth of the park’s area, approximately 600 acres. Minghu Lake is divided into two parts by the Nine-hole Bridge, with the northern part resembling the sun and the southern part resembling a crescent moon, resembling the character ‘Ming’, which fits the meaning of ‘Minghu’. Walking along the shore of Minghu Lake, one can see the vast lake surface, with small islands connected to long causeways, and causeways connected to wooden bridges. The lotus ponds and pavilions connected by the Lotus Flower Bridge are fully integrated into the landscape water system, offering great viewing and beautiful scenery. Arriving at the shore of Minghu Lake, one can see two ribbon-shaped beaches, one of sand and the other of pebbles. The artificial sand beach is about 700 meters long, and the pebble beach is about 300 meters long, with sand and pebbles all transported from other places. Here, one can enjoy the pleasure of walking barefoot on the sand and relax.

The park has several naturally formed wetlands where reeds, lotuses, water onions, water lilies, and more than 30 other aquatic plants grow in the wetland landscape area. The more than 70 acres of wetlands within the park play an important role in providing water resources, regulating climate, conserving water sources, degrading pollutants, and protecting biodiversity. Walking through the park’s paths, one can be amazed by the unique Taihu stones, which are in various shapes and highlight the extraordinary craftsmanship of nature. In MuCheng Park, seven peculiar stones are distributed throughout the park, with the largest one placed in the riverside square, facing the Yangtze River, like a flying horse soaring over the great river.

The park is open all year round, 24 hours a day, with specific business hours subject to the daily opening status.
