Mao’ao Museum is the only museum in the province that showcases the 6,000-year civilization history of island fishing villages. The museum houses numerous artifacts unearthed from archaeological excavations, vividly displaying the life and cultural formation and development of the island’s ancestors 6,000 years ago.

Inside the Mao’ao Museum, there are halls such as ‘The First Island Village’, ‘Sea Salt Culture’, and ‘Island Folk Customs’, exhibiting various stone tools and pottery from the Neolithic Age, including a particularly large stone plow, as well as finely polished ritual vessels, detailing the historical connections between Mao’ao ancient culture and Hemudu, Liangzhu cultures, and Eastern cultures.
