Zhou Xinfang’s Former Residence is located in Jiangbei District, Ningbo City. It was built by the modern outstanding Peking Opera performing artist Zhou Xinfang after he became famous at the age of 30 in 1925 and returned to his hometown. He also lived here. The former residence originally had a platform gate, with a hall in the middle, a building at the back, and wing rooms on both sides. Now, only the ancestral hall remains.
The building has three bays wide, with a hard mountain style, and a beam structure. The beam frame structure does not use a flat beam but uses an arched supporting beam, which holds up the ridge purlin. In the middle of the supporting beam, a flower bucket is suspended, and the roof is of the hard mountain style, with the gable walls higher than the main ridge.
