Yeren Cave is located in Shepan Island Scenic Area. It is named after the line ‘Wild people live on the top of the divine snake’ in Bao Ding’s poem ‘Rhyme with Shepan Island’. Wild people refer to mountain people such as quarry workers, pirates and islanders. Yeren Cave was their dwelling place back then. ‘Who says it’s the work of ghosts and axes and divine carving? It turns out to be the remaining mountains and waters.’ Yeren Cave shows you the miracle of the’remaining mountains’ after thousands of years of chiseling. It also invites you to experience the rough and freehand style of living in mountain caves. The long history of Shepan Island and the gentle charm of the Red Chamber on the mirage are all reasons why you don’t want to leave.
