The Xiaolingfeng Temple was founded in 1341, the first year of Zhizheng in the Yuan Dynasty. It was initially named the Dragon King Sutra Hall on Ma’anshan Mountain and was a place where villagers in the mountains prayed for rain. It was rebuilt in 1665, the fourth year of the Kangxi reign and renamed Huilong Nunnery. Later, as the temple was built on Xiaolingfeng Mountain, it got its name Xiaolingfeng Temple. The main buildings of the temple include the Heavenly King Hall, the Grand Buddha Hall, the Ge Xian Hall and the Three Saints Hall. In front of the Grand Buddha Hall, there is a small bridge. Under the bridge is the Jiugui Pond. It never dries up even in a long drought. It is said that it was excavated when Ge Hong was making pills. It is not deep and its walls are built with coarse tiles. The Ge Xian Hall is to the east of the Grand Buddha Hall and enshrines Ge Hong of Taoism. In 327, the second year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Ge Hong came here to make pills. When he was living in seclusion on Lingfeng Mountain, there was an epidemic. Ge Hong widely collected herbal medicines and distributed pills, bringing many people back to life. Later generations came here one after another to commemorate this ancestor who helped the world. The specific business hours and opening status are subject to the opening situation on that day.
