Qingdao Temple

The Qingdao Temple is located on Tashan outside the east gate of Cicheng. It was built in the eighth year of Tianbao in the Tang Dynasty (749). It is a place for Taoism to worship gods and immortals, for Taoists to cultivate their nature, and for various related activities. The Tang and Song dynasties were the heyday in the history of Taoism in China, which is combined with the fate of the Qingdao Temple in Cicheng. After the Yuan Dynasty, it has undergone destruction, reconstruction and expansion. By the period of the Republic of China, there were locust trees on both sides of the road and pines filling the pavilions in the Qingdao Temple. The mountain-side building has seven floors in total. Pavilions, halls and palaces are distributed among them. There are countless various statues. Especially the huge bell is known far and near. This building was demolished during the Cultural Revolution and is currently being rebuilt.
