Upon entering the Wuling Gate, the building not far to the right is the Jiang’s Ancestral Hall. Jiang’s Ancestral Hall is the traditional venue for the Jiang family of Xikou to conduct clan activities, where ancestral worship, celebrations, weddings, and funerals are all held. Here, the ancestral tablets of the Jiang family from the ancestor Jiang Shijie, who migrated to Xikou at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, to the present day are enshrined, condensing over 600 years of family history. The ancestral hall is composed of a new and an old section, with a total area of 3000 square meters and a construction area of 1800 square meters. The front part is the new ancestral hall, built in 1930, and the eastern wing of the new ancestral hall displays historical materials related to Jiang’s Ancestral Hall. The back part is the old ancestral hall, which was rebuilt in the 55th year of the Kangxi Emperor of the Qing Dynasty, with a stage connected to the central gate, double eaves and a hip roof, and a spiral ceiling well. The funerals of Jiang Jieqing and his principal wife Mao Fumei were also held here. Opening hours: 08:00-17:30 from May 1st to September 30th; 08:00-17:00 from October 1st to April 30th.
