Anti-Japanese Base in Zhejiang (Siming Mountain) – Historical Site Cluster

During the Anti-Japanese War, Siming Mountain was one of the 19 bases nationwide, making an indelible contribution to the Chinese revolution. Countless revolutionaries shed their blood here, leaving behind numerous red revolutionary sites such as the Siming Mountain Revolutionary Martyrs’ Memorial, the former site of the Zhejiang Eastern District Committee of the Communist Party, the former site of the Political Department of the New Fourth Army’s Zhejiang Eastern Guerrilla Column, the former site of the Command Headquarters of the New Fourth Army’s Zhejiang Eastern Guerrilla Column, the former site of the Zhejiang Eastern Administrative Office, and the former site of the Zhejiang Eastern Anti-Japanese Military and Political Cadre School.

In the 2005 ‘Top Ten Red Tourism Scenic Spots in China’ selection event jointly organized by the Central Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee’s ‘Party Building’ magazine and the China Red Tourism Network, the Zhejiang Eastern (Siming Mountain) Anti-Japanese Base was awarded as one of the ‘Top Ten Red Tourism Scenic Spots in China’. On May 25, 2006, the former site of the Zhejiang Eastern Anti-Japanese Base was identified by the State Council and the Ministry of Culture as a sixth batch of national key cultural protection units. The site is open all year round from 08:30 to 16:30, with specific business status subject to the day’s opening conditions.
