Guanzong Lecture Monastery is located in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. It was founded by Jianran, the fifth-generation grandson of the renowned monk Zhili from the Si Ming area, during the Yuanfeng period of the Song Dynasty (1078-1085), and was initially named ‘Shiliu Guan Hall’. This hall was built in the northeast corner of Yanqing Temple and was originally affiliated with it. During the Qianlong and Jiaqing periods of the Qing Dynasty (1736-1820), after being renovated, it began to operate independently with its own abbot. In 1912, the eminent monk of the Tiantai Sect, Dixian, took office as the abbot, and the name was changed to ‘Guanzong Lecture Monastery’. The monastery includes a meditation hall, a guest hall, a recitation hall, a precept study hall, a research society, and a Dharma propagation society, truly making it a place that emphasizes both practice and understanding.

The opening hours are from 04:30 to 11:50 and from 13:30 to 16:30, Monday to Saturday, all year round. On Sundays, the monastery is closed all day. The specific business status is subject to the daily opening conditions.
