Located at the eastern foot of Gai Cang Mountain (Tea Mountain), Guiyun Cave is situated at the mid-level of Xiaodan Mountain in Maoxian Village, Huchen Township, Ninghai County, Zhejiang Province. The cave stands 16 meters high and 12 meters deep. It is named ‘Guiyun Cave’ due to the frequent clouds and mist encircling the cave entrance during spring and summer.
There is a poem that goes: ‘The rivers and mountains of the Song Dynasty are shrouded in clouds, outside Guiyun Cave the water flows leisurely. Where are the traces of our ancestors now? On the ancient road in the evening sun of autumn.’ Renowned scholars from the Song Dynasty such as Hu Sanxing and Shu Yueyang, and from the Ming Dynasty, including the great scholar Fang Xiaoru, as well as the master of traditional Chinese painting, Pan Tianshou, have all explored and marveled at this scenic spot.

The cave is open all year round and accessible at all times.
