Dehe Root Art Museum is located next to Dongguk Lake in Dan Dong Street, Xiangshan County, and was invested in by Zhang Dehe himself with a total of 10 million yuan. The building was designed for free by Mr. Wu Liangyong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a world-renowned architectural design expert, along with his outstanding student Dr. Song Ye Hao, as a dedicated gesture for Zhang Dehe. It is currently one of the largest root carving art museums in China.

The museum, which features distinct Hui-style architectural elements, displays over 200 exquisite works created by 40 Xiangshan root carving artists. It showcases the unique artistic charm of the new generation of ‘Zhejiang Famous Carvings’. The main structure of the museum adopts the classical Jiangnan quadrangle garden layout, with a well-arranged height difference, pavilions and corridors that provide a scene with every step, and an antique ambiance.
