The Chenghuang Temple is located on the west side of Cicheng County Yamen. It was built at the beginning of the establishment of the county in the Tang Dynasty. It was rebuilt in the fourth year of Xianchun in the Song Dynasty (1268). It has been repaired many times in successive dynasties. In the ninth year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1870), local people Feng Benhuai raised funds for construction and later it was destroyed. The currently reconstructed Chenghuang Temple building follows the regulations of the Qing Dynasty. The temple courtyard is grand and the layout is complete. Cicheng Chenghuang Temple faces south. It is a typical architectural form of Chinese Taoist temple halls. The temple halls and stages are stacked layer by layer, and the wing rooms and side halls are connected in depth and run through as a whole. It not only has the configuration characteristics of temple halls but also has the architectural style of official residences. Its theological interest and the function of ‘front court and back sleeping quarters’ are very obvious. Cicheng Chenghuang Temple is one of the relatively complete Chenghuang Temples restored in China at present. Opening hours: From January 1st to December 31st, open from 08:00 to 16:40.
