Plot

This is a story about the predecessors and the principal, fictionalized by a younger student based on the school’s history and legends. In 1943, Chongqing, the wartime capital, during the Anti-Japanese War. Chiang Kai-shek, who personally served as the president of the National Central University (renamed Nanjing University in 1950), invited three renowned professors from the Chinese Department to have the New Year’s Eve dinner. This put the three professors in a dilemma: whether to go or not, and whether to give Mr. Jiang this face? In 1967, in the old capital Nanjing, during the Cultural Revolution. The three professors were investigated for this matter, and they had different recollections of whether they were invited by Chiang Kai-shek and whether they had attended Chiang Kai-shek’s banquet.
Stage Design Upgrade
Unlike the old version of the stage design, the new version of ‘Mr. Jiang’s Face’ has a richer quality. In the design process, the main creative teachers referred to a large number of real street scenes from the Anti-Japanese War period, and ‘Xiu Zhu Tea House’ has become a more layered space.
