‘Ningbo Show: Gateway to the World’ is a large-scale maritime-themed tourism performance show. It is based on the distinct regional civilization, poetically presenting Ningbo’s cultural symbols and local characteristics. Elements such as the Hemudu Civilization, the Maritime Silk Road, and the Red Wedding Parade are either grand in scale or full of charm, making it a play that allows locals to look back at their hometown and visitors to explore the cultural charm of Ningbo.
The show employs dance, acrobatics, high-diving, and other special effects, integrating advanced stage technology and equipment. It uses a vast water stage, applying exquisite stage art to create an innovative film and live performance model. The entire show is divided into nine chapters: Boat Ballad, Farewell, Setting Sail, Mysterious Realm, Pirates, Silk Road, Storm, Dream Marriage, and Calling the Sea.
The 10,000 square meter high-tech theater features a 3,000 cubic meter constant temperature water stage, an amphibious stage, G20 stage machinery team custom development, and a panoramic multi-channel surround sound effect, immersing the audience in a journey on a large ship, offering an immersive audio-visual experience.
‘Gateway to the World’ carries on Ningbo’s historical context of ‘Books Store the Past and Present, Ports Link the World’, narrating the contemporary Ningbo people’s maritime legend.
