Mu Weng Village – A Mosquito-Free Paradise for Leisure and Vacation

Mu Weng Village, a leisure and vacation area in Anji, Zhejiang, is located 4.5 kilometers west of Zhangwu Town, Anji County, the hometown of the modern art master Wu Changshuo. Surrounded by mountains, it boasts an excellent ecological environment and is named for its absence of mosquitoes.
Mu Weng Village consists of three scenic areas: the front, middle, and rear. The front area is characterized by valleys, streams, and winding paths, with towering valleys on both sides and gurgling streams at the foot of the mountains. The middle area is dominated by vast bamboo forests, known as a natural ‘oxygen bar,’ and features a ten-foot-tall ‘back-supporting stone,’ which is said to cure back pain for those who rest against it.

The Wu Changshuo’s former residence within the scenic area is the birthplace of the master Wu Changshuo, recreating the living scenes of his era. The ground building ruins in the courtyard of the former residence are the remains of the Wu family’s ancestral home from the Ming Dynasty, dating back over 400 years. Additionally, there are landscapes such as the Pan Bridge, Changshuo Art Gallery, and exhibition rooms, enriching the commemorative significance and ornamental value of the former residence.
