Yunxiu Temple

Yunxiu Temple is located in Yunxiu Mountain, Erdu Township, Deqing County. It was first built in the eighth year of Chunxi in the Song Dynasty (1181). Later, it went through several rises and falls. In 1345, the monk Wencui rebuilt it. It was destroyed during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. During the Wanli period, Gu Duanping, a grand secretary, donated money for reconstruction. Yunxiu Mountain used to have Qingyun Tower, so it is also known as Tashan. The temple leans against Yuping Peak. Surrounding it are Daniu Mountain, Jiaoziding Mountain, Hu Sun Mountain, Yiqiu Ridge, etc. Surrounded by peaks, it is full of green bamboos and lush pines. Nowadays, the temple has vermilion gates and white walls, with soaring eaves, majestic and simple. Inside, there are Sutra Depository, Diamond Hall and Mahavira Hall. In December 1989, it was listed as a provincial key cultural protection unit. Not far from the temple is Shimen Cave. The two sides stand like screens, and huge rocks cover the top. Inside the temple, there are ancient plum blossoms of the Song Dynasty and ancient osmanthus trees of four seasons. The scenery is pleasant and it is a famous tourist place. Open all year round and all day. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
