Xiao Longzhong is located at the southeastern foot of Dongnan Gonglong Mountain, facing Taihu Lake, and neighboring the ancient town of Mudu. Originally named Xiao Wangshan, also known as Qin Tai Mountain, the mountain stands 53.9 meters high but boasts an extremely rich array of ecological and cultural resources.
Li Genyuan, in 1923, retired from politics to protest against the bribery of Cao Kun in the elections and secluded himself in Xiao Longzhong until the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War in 1937. During his ten years of seclusion, Li Genyuan planted hundreds of thousands of pine trees and meticulously created the Ten Views of Xiao Longzhong’s Pine Sea: Wan Song Pavilion, Ting Song Pavilion, Ting Quan Stone, Chui Lv Peak, Xiao Longzhong, Wo Shi Wo, Xiao Jing Tai, Hu Shan Hall, Li Yun Stream, and Ling Chi.

Xiao Longzhong is also a large group of modern stone carvings in the East China region, with a rich collection of cliff inscriptions. It gathers over 550 stone carving inscriptions written by more than 240 celebrities, with all styles of calligraphy present, making it an open-air treasure trove of calligraphic art.
