Meng Jiao Temple is located in the center of Deqing County, built in memory of Meng Jiao. Meng Jiao (751-814 AD), a renowned poet of the Tang Dynasty, was a native of Deqing, Zhejiang. His representative work includes ‘Song of the Wanderer’. His approach to poetry writing was extremely rigorous, often pondering deeply and taking risks, which sometimes resulted in a bitter taste. However, works such as ‘Song of the Wanderer’ are naturally amiable.
