Longxing Island is located within the Tianmu Lake Scenic Area and is a must-visit attraction. It requires a boat ride to and from the island. The island is lush with vegetation and features a hill with an elevation of 110 meters. Visiting the island is akin to a mountain hike, but it doesn’t involve too much climbing. Once at the summit, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful Tianmu Lake.
Upon entering the Tianmu Lake Scenic Area, one can take a boat from the pier between the Lake and the mountains to Longxing Island. The return boat ride will take visitors to China Tea Island, which is connected to the scenic area by a bridge. After arriving at Longxing Island by boat, one should first visit the White Dragon Waterfall, followed by the Butterfly Valley which houses butterfly specimens. Exiting Butterfly Valley, visitors can take two outdoor escalators (up only, not down) to the top for a bird’s-eye view of the entire Tianmu Lake Scenic Area.
Descending from the direction of the Elf Kingdom, there is no need to retrace one’s steps. Along the way, there are peacock gardens, rabbit gardens, and squirrel gardens where one can observe small animals. Further down is the performance venue of the Elf Kingdom, where one can watch cartoon character performances. Each show lasts for 25 minutes. There is a sign on Longxing Island indicating the performance times, but the actual times are subject to the schedule of the scenic area.
