Despair Slope is located in Tianping Mountain, Suzhou, with an elevation of 201 meters. The mountain has steep and perilous terrain, historically known as Baiyun Mountain, also called Ci Mountain, and is the burial place of the ancestors of Fan Zhongyan, a famous minister of the Northern Song Dynasty.
