Gaofeng Temple has a history of more than 1,500 years. The temple was originally built in the first year of Tianjian of Emperor Wu of Liang in the Southern Dynasty. Its original name was Shuangji Nunnery. Later, it got this name because Gaofeng Yuanmiao Guoshi lived here and preached Buddhism on the mountain.
