Dicuitan Pool

Dicuitan Pool is an artificially excavated pool. There are water lilies in the pool. Outside the pool, there is a Yicuiting Pavilion and a huge rock. The pool water is clear, the water lilies have a faint fragrance, the pavilion is simple and exquisite. There are several characters engraved on the huge rock, namely ‘boundless wind and moon’ and ‘Mogan is good’. In 1987, Qian Juntao, a student of Lu Xun and a seal engraver, calligrapher and painter, came to Mogan Mountain to escape the summer heat. When he came to Dicuitan Pool, he felt it was a pity that the huge rock had no ornament. So he readily picked up his brush and wrote the character ‘cui’ (green). He took this largest character he had ever written in his life as a gift and generously gave it to the huge rock. This gift is really substantial. It took two years to carve the character on the cliff. Against the backdrop of calligraphy, the surrounding scenery is all overshadowed. The green leaves of water lilies cannot compare with the green of ‘cui’. The lotus cannot compare with the beauty of ‘cui’. The pool exists only for the reflection of ‘cui’. The pavilion is for you to sit and savor ‘cui’ carefully. And what people like is to take a photo with the charmingly elegant character ‘cui’. Opening hours: Open all day throughout the year.
