Aodang Bridge

The Aodang Bridge is the first bridge connecting the Macau Peninsula and Taipa Island. It was completed in October 1974. The bridge was originally named after the Portuguese governor as Ponte Governador Nobre de Carvalho. Later, as it was commonly known as the Aodang Bridge by the citizens, it replaced the original name. The bridge, including the approach bridges, is more than 3,400 meters long. It spans the waters between Macau and Taipa. With a large curvature, it is like a rainbow lying on the waves. Its unique design gives people an impression of both grandeur and delicacy, adding a modern touch to the ancient Macau. The bridge has a unique shape and a sense of rhythm, becoming one of the eight scenic spots in Macau. At night, the bridge lights shine brightly, like a string of pearls, adding brilliant colors to the night sky of the Macau Bay. In different seasons, day or night, the bridge is set off to show a beautiful figure and has become a scenic line of Macau and also a symbol of Macau’s development. Opening hours: open all year round from 00:00 to 23:59.
