The front 9 holes encircle the island, surrounded by rivers and seas, with water on all sides and waves rippling, integrating the scenery of the sea and sky with the distant mountains and nearby waters. The back 9 holes traverse the island, gathering sand pits, strange rocks, coconut groves, reed marshes, and pastoral scenery. Even in the height of summer, there is a cool breeze accompanying the migratory birds, making it a natural park that not only satisfies one’s golf cravings but also offers a wild and interesting experience.
The course was meticulously sculpted by Canadian designer Mr. Bill and strictly supervised by Japanese supervisor Mr. Yuji, skillfully blending various golfing techniques and tactics across the approximately 800,000 square meter island, allowing players of different skill levels to test their abilities on courses of varying difficulty and hone their golfing skills. In order to maintain and respect the specific connotations of the links style, the entire course strictly preserves the original natural terrain and vegetation, making full use of the island’s bays, sand pits, white flower reeds, and various shrubs and vines, especially the wild pineapple groves scattered throughout the island. These not only give the course its landscape characteristics but also provide a great test of your strategic and skillful golf play. Its function is akin to the gorse bushes and stone walls of Scottish links courses.
The longest hole on the course is the 9th hole (Maria) at 563 yards; the shortest hole is the 11th hole (Wave) at 160 yards; the most challenging hole is the 7th hole (Greatwall) at 454 yards. Originally a straight-line, sea-crossing long hole, if you are not confident in your shot to fly over the sea, you must conservatively aim for the right fairway. However, if the landing point is not carefully calculated, the little white ball may fall into the right wild pineapple thicket and leave you behind… The mysteries of this island within an island await your exploration as you relax, meet friends, and improve your golfing tactics.
The course’s unique feature is the water transportation between the course and the hotel. Traveling by speedboat or small boat, and enjoying the scenery along the Wanquan River from the water, will provide you with a refreshing and unique experience.
