The Cixi County Yamen was established in the 26th year of Kaiyuan in the Tang Dynasty (738 AD). It was built by Fang Guan, the first county magistrate. It continued until 1954 and has a history of more than 1,200 years. It was initially built on Fubi Mountain. Due to foreign invasions and natural disasters, it was repeatedly built and destroyed. The existing county yamen is rebuilt according to the detailed map in the ‘Cixi County Annals’ during the Guangxu period, covering an area of more than 40,000 square meters.
Opening hours: Open from 08:30 to 16:30 from January 1st to September 12th; open from 08:30 to 16:30 from October 8th to December 31st; open from 08:30 to 18:30 from September 13th to October 7th.
Preferential policies:
Children: Free for those under 6 years old (inclusive) or under 1.2 meters (inclusive) (must be under adult supervision); those between 1.2 meters (exclusive) and 1.5 meters (inclusive) in height or between 6 years old (exclusive) and 18 years old (inclusive) enjoy discounted prices.
Students: Full-time undergraduate and below students with valid student ID cards enjoy discounted prices.
Elderly: Free for those aged 70 years old (inclusive) or above and retired cadres with relevant certificates; those aged 60 years old (inclusive) to 69 years old (inclusive) with valid certificates enjoy discounted prices.
Military personnel: Military personnel, military dependents, disabled military personnel, martyrs’ survivors, survivors of military personnel who died on duty and survivors of military personnel who died of illness are free with relevant certificates.
Disabled people: Free with disability certificates.
Journalists: Free with press cards.
Tour guides and Ningbo citizens: Tour guides with tour guide certificates, travel agency managers with travel agency manager qualification certificates, and drivers leading tour groups with relevant certificates; honorary citizens of Ningbo with relevant certificates and experts in Ningbo with relevant certificates are free.
Supplementary notes:
1. On March 15th (Consumer Rights Day), May 19th (China Tourism Day), and on the day of ‘Citizen Tourism Day’ of Ningbo Tourism Festival, residents of Jiangbei District, Ningbo City can enjoy free tickets with valid certificates (ID card or household registration book) or those who are registered as residents in Jiangbei District and hold the ‘Zhejiang Residence Permit’.
2. On June 1st (Children’s Day), children (under 14 years old) in Jiangbei District, Ningbo City and one guardian can enjoy free tickets with relevant certificates.
3. On October 7th (Double Ninth Festival), the elderly over 60 years old in Jiangbei District, Ningbo City and one accompanying person can enjoy free tickets with relevant certificates.
