E'xianling Ecological and Cultural Tourism Area

E’xianling Ecological and Cultural Tourism Area is located in Donghe Town, Dongfang City, Hainan Province. It is close to the ‘Daguangba’ reservoir, the second largest artificial lake on Hainan Island. It is an important part of Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park. It has a relatively intact original tropical rainforest in karst landform in its native state in Hainan, and has the reputation of ‘Little Guilin in the East’. There are abundant tourism resources and human elements around and inside the scenic area:

1. The scenic area leans against the Daguangba by the Changhua River. The rare lake-type reservoir in the region provides rich fish resources for people on both sides of the strait.

2. Here is the site of the Xiaoguangba Hydropower Station, one of the earliest in China. It is a historical witness to the Japanese invasion and plundering of our ancestors’ resources. A scenic area with red genes can provide more learning materials and creative inspiration for academic enthusiasts.

3. In the rare karst landform scenic area of rainforest in China, tourists can not only overlook the nine peaks of E’niang Mountain and the dreamlike E’xian Bay, but also explore and observe 1,409 tropical plants and nearly a hundred tropical limestone specialized species and 59 terrestrial shellfish species in the park.

4. Various stalactites, stalagmites and stone pillars in the E’niang Cave and the winding and charming karst waterfall form a unique cave wonder.

5. The scenic area has rich cultural heritage of the Li nationality. The traditional festival of March 3 of the Meifu Li nationality tribe attracts tens of thousands of tourists to visit and experience every year. Generally speaking, E’xianling is a scenic area integrating landscape wonders, scientific research and exploration, red genes and human charm. The total planned area of the scenic area is 80.49 square kilometers. The first-phase development area totals 1.15 square kilometers, of which the core area is 1,665.41 mu. Here, it integrates various tourism resources such as ‘green mountains, beautiful waters, strange caves, beautiful forests and Li ethnic customs’. Featured landscapes such as ‘one mountain’ (E’xianling), ‘one cave’ (E’niang Cave) and ‘one waterfall’ (E’niang Stream) have been developed. Not only are there rainforest wonders such as ‘E’xian Dreamland’, ‘Lanxi Flower Valley’, ‘Butterfly Path’ and ‘Millennium Immortal Lizard’, but also the uncanny tropical karst landscapes such as ‘E’niang Welcoming Guests’, ‘Phoenix Flying in Pair’ and ‘Colorful Jade Pool’ waiting for you to explore. The opening hours are from 08:30 to 18:30 all year round.
