Furong Xie is a square hip-roofed waterside scenic building in the eastern part of the Humble Administrator’s Garden. It is located to the north of the main hall, Lanxue Hall, at the eastern end of the large lotus pond. The lotus pond is roughly rectangular, with a long east-west direction and a narrow north-south direction. Therefore, in front of the small pavilion facing west, there is a very profound waterscape. Lotuses are planted in the water. Lotuses are also known as hibiscus, and the name of the small pavilion comes from this. Furong Xie has become a very distinctive scenery in the eastern part. Especially on summer nights, when the bright moon is in the sky, the bright moon, cool breeze, moon shadow, and lotus fragrance all come together, which can indeed bring a beautiful feeling to viewers. The interior decoration of the small pavilion is also extremely exquisite. The western side of the small pavilion facing the water is decorated with carved round light covers. The eastern side is a floor-to-ceiling screen door. The north and south sides are simple window lattices, which have an air of elegance and scholarly charm of small buildings in Suzhou gardens. Opening hours: Open all year round from 07:30 to 17:30. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on the day.
