Haishi Beach Swimming Area

This is a beach over a hundred meters long, flanked by black volcanic lava rocks, resembling a colossal ‘concave’ shape.

Millions of years ago, a volcanic eruption occurred here, and the molten lava cooled upon contact with air and seawater, forming these rugged black stones.

The azure waves surge and chase, crashing into the black rocks, splashing into white, frothy sprays.

The sand is loose and soft, with a flat stone beach near the seawater, devoid of complex terrain and dangerous whirlpools, making it both safe and thrilling to play in the water.

Nayan Bay is one of the attractions of the Leiqiong Volcano Global Geopark, whose volcanic section is a standard section of the volcanic rock strata of the Leizhou Peninsula, with clear and distinct layers: the lower part is the dark-colored Shimuling Formation volcanic clastic rocks, the upper part has gently layered and clearly visible volcanic clastic rocks, as well as well-developed columnar joints of basalt, with baked red layers between the two parts.
