The Home of Retired Musicians is located on the west side of the Michelangelo Square and was initiated by composer Verdi in 1896. It serves as a serene dwelling for artists who have stepped away from the limelight of the stage to spend their twilight years. In honor of Verdi, a statue of him has been erected in the central square, and Verdi’s tomb can be found within the Home of Retired Musicians. It is open to the public from 09:00 to 17:00 all year round.
