Christmas is just around the corner, are you ready to celebrate? Remember in May this year during the summer, we took Longlong to Baoyan Paradise, where he had such a great time that he couldn’t stop talking about it. He often shared the joy of his visit with his friends. Perhaps inspired by Longlong, my best friend’s child is also looking forward to visiting Baoyan Paradise and is eager to play there. We decided to visit Baoyan Paradise again around Christmas time. What exactly are the attractions that left a deep impression on Longlong and made him want to return? What are the highlights that should not be missed? Below are the key points to note, don’t miss out on these classic attractions!
Tips for Visiting Baoyan Paradise:
Baoyan Paradise spans five floors and is a one-stop family entertainment center that can definitely satisfy a full day of fun. It is located at No. 11, Lane 3825, Dushi Road, Minhang District, just an 850m walk from Exit 1 of Yindu Road Station on Line 5. It is easily accessible and offers free parking for the first four hours, with a coupon available at the front desk. After that, parking costs 6 RMB per hour. Business hours are 10:30-19:30 (Monday to Friday) and 9:30-20:30 (Saturday and Sunday). The water park is open from 11:00 to 18:00.
On the first floor, the two boys were excited to see the Jurassic dinosaur park outside the door and struck poses, capturing the children’s lively spirit with a quick snapshot on their phones. As winter approaches, the lobby has also been filled with Christmas trees, adorned with colorful decorations and topped with a sparkling star, drawing children to take pictures with the Christmas tree. A Santa Claus with a white beard and dressed in red is a must, and the lobby is already full of Christmas atmosphere.
In the Pet Paradise on the first floor, a group of cute small animals attracted the attention of the two children. There are many types of animals, such as alpacas, groundhogs, chinchillas, and British shorthair cats, which are incredibly cute. With gloves on, you can get up close and personal with the animals, petting them and feeding them. The Pet Paradise pays great attention to hygiene, providing gloves and hand-washing stations everywhere. Longlong fed them for the second time, feeling more like a long-lost ‘good friend.’ A bag of carrots was quickly snatched up by them. The adorable alpacas are very cute, with a large round face and two big, watery eyes that roll around, sporting a super cool hairstyle, still the familiar greedy drooler we know! Faced with various small animals, the children actively approach without any fear. The love between them and the animals during the interaction is also a healing process, feeling the magic of nature.
At 1F, Super Combined Slide Paradise. This is a must-visit project in Baoyan Paradise. There are slides of various slopes. In particular, the 90-degree vertical slide is still very challenging. It only takes 4 seconds to slide from a height of 7.3 meters to the ground. It is very exciting and a good opportunity to exercise children’s courage and boldness. However, remember to wear anti-slip socks and long clothes and trousers. Safety first. All the equipment here is wrapped in soft cushions and there is also a safety net. Naughty babies should also obediently follow the instructions of the staff. In addition to the slides, there is also a climbing and expanding area for children. Every child can play boldly and freely inside. At 1F, VR Dynamic Paradise. Longlong and his little friends also experienced VR. The immersive feeling makes people even more excited. At 2F, Block World. Babies are immersed in knowledge and look like little engineers. Moving left and right, they quickly build their own castles. As the saying goes, ‘One minute on stage, ten years of practice off stage’. The skills of playing Lego at ordinary times are all brought into play at this time. The two children cooperate rhythmically and give full play to their nature. At 2F, Naughty Castle Paradise. The small world of yellow and white ocean balls. It feels like you can go wild and have high spirits inside! Rushing from the slide into the ocean balls is decompressing and exciting. Usually very busy at work, being able to play with Longlong and swaying in the dreamy ocean balls with various amusement facilities, it seems as if I have returned to my childhood and gained the simplest happiness! At 2F, Delicious Online Parent-Child Restaurant. After jumping around for a long time, Longlong is also sweating profusely and needs to replenish energy to continue the battle! Fortunately, there is a delicious western restaurant on this floor. Here comes the steaming pasta! At 2F, Manicure Room for Moms & Parent-Child Handicraft Room. There is also a manicure room specially prepared for moms on the second floor. While taking care of children, you can enjoy free manicures here. It is very considerate. Next to it is the parent-child handicraft room. Last time, I completed a memorable work with Longlong. It has been framed and placed at home. Various Christmas decorations and ornaments can be seen everywhere. Deer, Christmas trees, and Santa Claus cards are suspended in the air. The glass is also pasted with ‘Merry Christmas’ white stickers. Unconsciously, that familiar melody ‘Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way’ rings in my ears. Did you also sing along with me? At 3F & 4F, Four Seasons Constant Temperature Water Paradise. The third and fourth floors have been connected. I think what Longlong remembers most deeply should be the water park on the third floor of the paradise. Baoyan Paradise has moved the large water park indoors. The four seasons are constant temperature and the average annual temperature is around 37 degrees. There is no need to worry about the cold wind outside.
A variety of water-based amusements await, with the 5-meter high and 32-meter long Rainbow Slide being particularly suitable for children. Longlong loves to challenge himself on this attraction, relishing the thrill and laughter that comes with it. Despite having gone down it more than a dozen times, he can’t resist the urge to climb up and slide down again. The joy of splashing around is not limited to the summer; winter water play is equally exhilarating! The lake exploration area is equipped with a multitude of可爱的 fountain facilities, perfect for water-loving children. After tiring out, families can relax in the adjacent parent-child sauna. On the 5th floor, an open-air platform features attractions such as a carousel, a Jurassic adventure, a happy little train, rooftop climbing, and outdoor grass sliding. The moment the elevator doors open, visitors are greeted by the sight of a massive dinosaur biting a car, which was quite a shock during the first visit. Outdoor grass sliding has become an internet sensation; however, due to maintenance and unfavorable weather, this activity is temporarily unavailable. Fortunately, Longlong and I had the chance to experience it previously. Although it’s not real grass, the unique terrain design adds a lot of fun to the experience. In addition to free activities, there are also paid options on the 5th floor, such as a children’s horse-riding area. For just 50 yuan, children can ride a pony for a lap, complete with protective gear and helmets, and under the watchful guidance of professional staff. Reluctantly leaving at closing time, the glittering Christmas tree at the entrance adds to the charm. From the Rainbow Slide to the Naughty Castle, from the constant-temperature water park to the outdoor Jurassic adventure, the diverse array of activities keeps children entertained and forgetful of the outside world. Surprisingly, as an adult accompanying two young boys, Baoyan Park allows me to let go and enjoy a memorable day with the children. There’s no doubt that one day here is far from enough! In December, the park also sets up a special lottery event. By taking a photo with the backdrop and purchasing a ticket to enter, everyone can participate in the lottery. Don’t forget to try your luck!
