The China Table Tennis Museum officially opened its doors on March 31, 2018. Constructed by Shanghai Baoye, the International Table Tennis Federation Museum and China Table Tennis Museum (hereinafter referred to as the Ping Pong Museum) welcomed visitors. The newly established ‘Ping Pong Museum’ is located in the Huangpu District of Shanghai, on the World Expo site, covering an area of 5,000 square meters with a total construction area of 10,389 square meters. The museum is equipped with exhibition areas, public service areas, interactive experience areas, collection technology areas, and educational research areas. It houses over 12,000 pieces of collections and features advanced VR interactive experience zones, multimedia interactive areas, and 3D cinemas. Within 330 days, Shanghai Baoye forged this world-class project, the only one named ‘International Table Tennis Federation Museum’ in the Shanghai World Expo Park, and has successively won honors such as Shanghai Civilized Construction Site, Green Construction Site, and Golden Steel Award. Opening hours are 09:00-17:00 on Tuesdays to Sundays throughout the year; closed all day on Mondays; and 09:00-17:00 on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day. Service facilities include luggage storage: a free storage service for small items (within 45cm*50cm*40cm) is provided at the storage counter. Valuable items must be carried and kept safe by yourself to avoid loss or damage. Wheelchair rental: the museum offers free services for wheelchairs, crutches, and other special equipment. If needed, please go to the storage counter to handle the rental procedures. Essential tips for group visits: group visits of 20 or more people need to book a guided tour in advance. Guided services: the museum offers two free guided tours every day (10:00 AM and 2:00 PM), and visitors can also rent audio guides.
