The entire ancient road stretches about 30 kilometers from the fishing village of Hongang, Jinshan to Shilin, Taipei. A hundred years ago, fishermen from Jinbaoli (former name of Jinshan) used this ancient road to carry fish and cross mountains and ridges to sell in Shilin, and then cross the mountains again to return to Jinbaoli. Now the Jinbaoli ancient road has been planned by Yangmingshan National Park as one of the twelve major hiking trails. Along the way, there are endless stretches of lush green grass and shady forests. It is a great place for mountain climbing and outings. Open all year round from 00:00 to 23:59.
