The Jiulong Island Lighthouse features a brick structure with a white exterior. Originally equipped with a white-red fixed light kerosene lamp, the red light was later changed to a white light. The lighthouse originally had a red light arc to indicate the location of the Xinlai Reef outside Keelung Harbor. It is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
