In 1867, the first generation founder of Kuehnei, Guo Liangzhen, established a pastry shop in Shilin under the ancestral hall name ‘Yuany Yi’ from Fujian, promoting the traditional pastry skills and laying the foundation for the pastry shop with the ‘Yuany Yi’ ancestral hall name of the Guo family from Fujian. In 1945, the third-generation operator Guo Qinding added the surname ‘Guo’ to the shop’s name, creating ‘Kuehnei’. To date, two Kuehnei Bakery Museums have been established, promoting the mission of inheriting and promoting pastries. The museum is open all year round from 9:00 to 17:00, and the entire week from 09:00 to 17:30.
