Langshan, nestled beside the Yangtze River, is one of the renowned scenic spots in Nantong. The mountain is lush with trees and rich in historical sites, including the millennia-old Guangjiao Temple, the tomb of Luo Binwang, the Sanxian Temple, and the Zhiyunta. Climbing to the summit offers a panoramic view of the Yangtze River, with splendid scenery. As a famous Buddhist mountain in China, Langshan is dotted with Buddhist architecture throughout, making it an ideal place for worship and blessings. The main entrance of the Langshan Scenic Area is located on Chengshan Road to the east, and there is a cable car to the top, although it is not recommended as the area is not large and the mountain is not high. Walking up and down the mountain takes about two hours. Along the mountain path of Langshan, there are many tombs of historical celebrities, such as the tomb of the famous Tang Dynasty poet Luo Binwang. Further on is the Guangjiao Temple, which enshrines the statue of the Great Power Bodhisattva, flanked by statues of sixteen venerable beings. The Grand View Terrace on the mountain is now an excellent spot for sightseeing, offering a wide view that allows you to fully appreciate the beauty of the Yangtze River. Additionally, the Langshan Scenic Area is adjacent to the Nantong Garden Expo on the west side, which is worth visiting after touring Langshan. There are also Ma’anshan, Huangni Mountain, Jianshan, and Junshan surrounding Langshan, collectively known as the ‘Five Mountains,’ all of which are also worth visiting.
