Luming Valley, located in the Wuxian Nianhua Bay, is a slender valley on the northeast side. It is the first of the ‘five petals’ in the ‘eight views of lotus flowers’ and is primarily home to serene meditation temples such as ‘Pine Moon Hermitage’ and ‘Half Room Residence’, where eminent monks reside.
It is said that when Tang Seng returned from his journey to the west to obtain the scriptures, he passed by this place and released two divine deer he brought back from the Deer Park of the Buddha in the Tianzhu Kingdom into the mountains. To this day, deep in the mountain bay, there is a clear pond called ‘Deer Sleep Pond’.

The Zen lifestyle here is vividly referred to as ‘Mingmian Zen’. It is open all year round, with full-day access.
