In each district that gathers movie scenes, there is also a concentration of dining, entertainment, shopping, movie theaters, coffee houses, bars, and boutique hotels with different brands and characteristics… Unforgettable movie scenes, a rich nostalgic atmosphere, and the transformation of tourist commercial districts from day to night make the entire project a combination of architectural tourism, movie tourism, and commercial tourism, fully displaying the evolution of Chinese urban streets and architecture over the past century in different times and spaces.

The 1942·Fanghua Scenic Area, based on the scenes from the movies ‘1942’ and ‘Fanghua’, makes the world on the screen within reach. The 1942 Scenic Area, inspired by the streets of Chongqing in the movie ‘1942’, aggregates 91 buildings that embody the typical architectural styles of Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan, and Chongqing from the 1920s to the 1940s along the Yangtze River. Among them, 25 buildings are fully restored according to old photos, including Xishan Bell Tower, Chongqing Guotai Theater, Shanghai Rongguang Grand Theater, and so on. Behind each building lies a story of bygone days, evoking memories and reflections.

The Fanghua Scenic Area is a movie实景 area specially planned and constructed for the 2017 New Year’s movie ‘Fanghua’, with 80% of the movie scenes shot here. The scenic area includes features such as a screen wall, basketball court, rehearsal hall, practice room, swimming pool, changing rooms, prop rooms, and military supply depot. To ensure the accurate restoration of the era’s background, the scenic area, from design to construction and furnishings, from the red slogans visible everywhere to a tile in the swimming pool, strictly adheres to the Chinese style and characteristics of the 1970s, making visitors feel as if they are in the scene.

The Nanyang Scenic Area, located along a 300-meter-long waterfront, gathers 70 buildings that reflect the fusion of Chinese and foreign architectural styles, showcasing Nanyang charm. Among them, the era-rich archways, docks, and bell towers, as well as small bridges, form an interesting group of Nanyang buildings. Nanyang Street fully highlights the ‘Belt and Road’ and Hainan regional characteristics, not only truly restoring the Nanyang-style architecture and streets but also presenting the commercial atmosphere of the Nanyang market, such as martial arts schools, pawnshops, Western clothing shops, pharmacies, herbal tea shops, and bakeries. At the same time, all-day performances allow visitors to experience a three-dimensional and diverse cultural tourism experience, fully recreating the prosperity and grandeur of ‘Going South to the Nanyang’, one of the three major migrations in Chinese history.

The Old Beijing Scenic Area gathers the essence of the old Beijing-style architectural complex, truly restoring the historical charm of old Beijing from the establishment of the People’s Republic of China to the 1970s. The tall drum towers, Ming and Qing dynasty ancient buildings, and majestic Soviet-style architecture groups reflect a grand, dignified, and simple architectural aesthetic style, more authentically reflecting the cultural connotations of old Beijing. It also specially incorporates the Beijing hutong elements from the movie ‘Mr. Six’, making it even more full of Beijing flavor.
The Beautiful Rural Stone Village Scenic Area, characterized by the distinctive architecture of the volcanic region in Haikou, is centered around a lighthouse and built upon a natural volcanic crater to create a beautiful Haikou countryside. The scenic area is designed with an immersive experience concept, featuring traditional handicraft scenes such as sugarcane squeezing, brown sugar boiling, and Li ethnic brocade making, constructed as live-action scenes. It also includes a squirrel theater and an animal farm for children, and a farmers’ market at the exit selling local specialties from Haikou, fully engaging visitors’ interest and participation. The ‘Bird’s Nest’ from the movie ‘If You Are the One 2’ has been transformed into a hotel and a themed inn modeled after volcanic dwellings, aiming to allow visitors to relive movie scenes and provide a unique accommodation experience.

The Starlight Avenue is located at the main entrance of the Movie Commune, composed of handprints and signatures from top Chinese film stars and directors. Drawing inspiration from Hollywood’s Walk of Fame and Hong Kong’s Avenue of Stars, it uses whole marble blocks, cut, carved, and polished by hand to create 1.2-meter high ArtDeco-style pedestals, making it convenient for visitors to take photos in front of their favorite star’s handprint. The first batch features handprints and signatures from 80 stars, most of whom have visited the Movie Commune, including Feng Xiaogang, Ge You, Jackie Chan, Andy Lau, Xu Fan, Song Dandan, Yao Chen, Li Bingbing, Liao Fan, Duan Yihong, Tsui Hark, Guan Hu, and other top Chinese stars and directors.
