National Revolutionary Martyrs’ Shrine

The Martyrs’ Shrine in Taipei was established in 1969, primarily dedicated to the approximately 390,000 soldiers and officers who sacrificed their lives in wars. Additionally, the hourly guard-changing ceremony is one of the popular attractions for visitors. The massive memorial arch bears the inscription ‘Martyrs’ Shrine’ at the center, flanked by the characters ‘Chengren’ and ‘Quyi’, symbolizing the fearless spirit of the martyrs. The over 10,000 square meters of green lawn surrounding the shrine, nestled among the mountains, create a tranquil and solemn atmosphere, further highlighting the solemnity of the building. Open year-round from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Accessibility services include wheelchair-accessible entrances.
