The Our Lady of the Snow Chapel is an older building on Guia Fortress. The main color of the church is white, decorated with yellow lines. It has the architectural style of a Portuguese monastery in the 17th century. The ancient murals in the church combine the characteristics of Chinese and Western cultures and arts. The murals are painted with patterns such as the Virgin Mary, St. Anthony of Padua or Lisbon, lions, double-headed eagles and peonies, which have artistic value and are ornamental. Opening hours: Open all year round from 10:00 to 17:00. Must-see tips: 1. No photography, video recording or loud noise is allowed in the church (protective measures for ancient murals). 2. The building next to the church is the Guia Lighthouse. It is an ancient lighthouse in China’s coastal areas. Near the lighthouse, you can also see typhoon signal markers. Whenever there is a typhoon, the Meteorological Bureau will hang corresponding typhoon signal markers on the fortress to remind citizens to be prepared. The lighthouse is not open to the public on weekdays.
