Quanjitang in Jinguashi

Driving between Jilong Mountain and Earless Teapot Mountain, you will see a giant bronze statue of Guan Gong. Sitting against the mountain and facing the sea in the lush forest, this pure copper-cast statue of Guan Gong is 35 Taiwanese feet (about 9 meters) high and weighs 25 tons. It is currently a very large statue of Guan Gong in Southeast Asia and one of the landmarks of Jinguashi. Next to the statue of Guan Gong is Quanjitang. Quanjitang was built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. It was granted the title Quanjitang by imperial decree, taking the meaning of ‘encouraging people to do good deeds and helping the people in need’. There are two treasures that guard the hall in the hall of Quanjitang. They are the two large relief stone pillars in front of the statue. The expressions of flowers, birds and figures are exquisitely crafted. They are the posthumous works of the late national treasure engraving master Huang Guili. Open all year round and all day.
