After much consideration, I finally chose the Shanghai Sun Island Resort Hotel near Zhujiajiao Ancient Town. First, the parent-child hotel is suitable for a family of three. Second, it is really rare that pets can be brought in. So, together with a family friend, six people and two pets drove a car and headed for Qingpu District! Shanghai Sun Island Resort Hotel is located on the Mao River in Zhujiajiao, Qingpu District. It is an island with a long history. At the turn of spring and summer, the vegetation on the island is lush, shady with trees, and full of vitality. Bid farewell to the hustle and bustle of the city and embrace the embrace of nature. We set off from downtown Shanghai, took the Yan’an Elevated Road to the outer ring road, then transferred to Husong Road and Shenzhuan Road. We arrived at Sun Island in about an hour. The check-in lobby and villa area of Sun Island Resort Hotel are separated. After completing the procedures, you can drive by yourself or take the short shuttle bus on the island to your room. The villa area is very large, with lush vegetation and adjacent to the Mao River. Walking among them gives a feeling of secluded paths. We booked the most distinctive parent-child villa on Sun Island. Before checking in, it was introduced that this single-family villa has 120 square meters, three bedrooms and one living room. After arriving, we found it was indeed very spacious. The soft furnishings in the room are all cartoon themes that babies like. The living room is equipped with a Monopoly game carpet, Lego wall, dolls and other toys. The most interesting thing is that there is a cross-floor slide and elastic climbing net in the villa. The children are having a great time. It is indeed a Shanghai parent-child hotel with zero negative reviews. Each of the three rooms is equipped with an independent washbasin and toilet. The super cute crab bubble machine allows the baby to play while taking a bath. Surprisingly, the bath goes very smoothly. On the second floor of the villa, in addition to the bedroom, there is also a characteristic Japanese-style tatami. The children can sleep in a row. The two children are playing and making noise. As parents, we are relieved. After putting down our luggage, it’s almost lunchtime. We chose the Waterfall Western Restaurant on the first floor of the hotel lobby. We were too full in the morning and the three of us were not very hungry. We ordered the special children’s meal for our daughter. The special tableware for children and the freshly made hamburgers and juices are very popular. My husband and I tried the new dirty milk. It is a dessert made with fresh milk and fruits. It’s very good to have a cup when it’s ice-cold in early summer. After having lunch, I took Wang Xiao’er (my silly dog) and went straight to the pet park. Before reaching the place, I saw various parents with dogs. The silly dog was extremely excited.
The pet paradise is divided into indoor and outdoor areas. Indoors, dogs can enjoy afternoon tea, climb frames, and play with ocean balls. Outdoors, there’s a vast grassy area for letting dogs run free and even a professional pet swimming pool for them to take a dip. It’s worth mentioning that Sun Island offers pet boarding and training services, with professional dog trainers who can help correct bad habits and teach some skills. Wang Xiaoer boarded his dog for an afternoon, and despite the dog’s timidity and constant barking, the staff were very patient, even offering biscuits and yogurt, which was very kind. On the first day, both families tried a small hot pot dinner, with each person having their own pot. The set meal included vegetables, meats, fish, and shellfish. The pork bone broth was richly simmered, and I heard that the vegetables were organically grown on the island, making them very crunchy and satisfying when combined with meat and seafood. If you’re still hungry, you can add a staple food, and it’s unlimited. The breakfast on the second day was at the hotel’s buffet restaurant, which deserves high praise for its high quality, offering both Chinese and Western options. The noodles and rice flour dishes at the open kitchen were delicious, and the self-made soy milk and yogurt were exceptional. For those who prefer Western-style breakfasts, there were salads and bread available, leaving the family very satisfied. Before arriving, we had heard that the equestrian club at Shanghai Sun Island was very famous. After breakfast, we took our daughter horseback riding. She was initially a bit scared of the big horses, but when the staff brought a pony for her to ride, she fell in love with it immediately. Protective gear was worn before getting on the horse, and the staff held the reins the whole time, ensuring safety, and our child had a lot of fun. We saw many children learning professional equestrian skills at the horse farm, looking very handsome. There are many places on the island suitable for children to play, and we chose to start at the Craftsmanship Pavilion to do some crafts. There were teaching teachers and tool kits, and all we needed to do was follow along. We chose to make a soft pottery piece and a leather bag, and we successfully completed both! The weather in May is already quite hot, and many people gather at the Mermaid Wharf, where water activities become popular. Our family of three rented a water bike, enjoying a leisurely ride. Finally, we took the Mermaid Train at the Mermaid Wharf. The train is composed of blue and white colors, with colorful paintings on both sides of the car, full of childlike innocence. The train stops at three stations along the way: the hotel lobby, Mermaid Wharf, and the small green space. With a ticket, you can ride all day, enjoying the scenery of the island and feeling refreshed. Every journey at the Shanghai Sun Island Resort Hotel is an exploration of the rare moments in life. Children sometimes act clingy and want to be held, which is due to the lack of parental companionship during busy work, but then they become independent and bravely seek out their own happiness, facing challenges with courage.
