The ‘Summit of the Pyramids: The Great Exhibition of Ancient Egyptian Civilization’ marks the fourth installment in the Shanghai Museum’s ‘Dialogue with the World’ series of cultural and artistic exhibitions. It grandly opened on July 18, 2024, at the People’s Square Pavilion and was made accessible to the public on July 19. As one of the largest-scale global and high-level Asian exhibitions of ancient Egyptian artifacts to travel abroad, the exhibition brings together 492 sets of 788 precious artifacts from different periods of ancient Egyptian civilization. Over 95% of these artifacts are in collaboration with the Egyptian government. The exhibition, which will last for 13 months, aims to fully reveal the ancient Egyptian civilization’s features and archaeological discoveries, fostering mutual appreciation between Chinese and Egyptian civilizations. The exhibition is open from July 19 to August 17.
